This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the Terms of Service for Lumi Tutor. It describes conduct we don't allow on our Service. Because we serve children, we enforce these rules strictly.
You agree NOT to:
Against the Service
- Attempt to extract, scrape, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service, including the AI prompt system, classifiers, or models
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network without our written permission
- Bypass, disable, or circumvent any safety guardrail, homework guardrail, content filter, or rate limit
- Submit prompts designed to elicit harmful, unsafe, or off-policy responses (so-called "jailbreaks")
- Use the Service to train competing AI models
- Use bots, automated tools, or scripts to interact with the Service except through documented APIs
Against people
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, defame, dox, or stalk anyone
- Impersonate any person or entity, including [COMPANY_NAME] staff
- Create accounts for anyone other than yourself
- Allow anyone outside your immediate family to use your account
- Share child profiles or session content publicly without removing personally-identifying information
- Attempt to identify another user
Against children's safety
- Use the Service to produce or attempt to produce sexual, sexually-suggestive, exploitative, or grooming content involving minors
- Use the Service to produce content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or dangerous behaviour
- Use the Service to evade legitimate parental controls — including by another parent's account
- Knowingly create a child profile for a child for whom you are not the parent or legal guardian
- Encourage or instruct a child to circumvent the safety guardrails
Against the law
- Use the Service for any activity that is illegal in your country or the country where it is hosted
- Submit content that infringes intellectual-property rights, trade secrets, or publicity rights
- Submit content that violates export-control or sanctions laws
- Use the Service to plan or facilitate violence, terrorism, or organised crime
Against system integrity
- Send spam, malware, ransomware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt or damage systems
- Generate excessive load (denial-of-service attacks, including distributed attacks)
- Forge headers, source addresses, or other identifiers
- Tamper with audit logs
Specific rules for AI-generated content
- Don't try to use the Service to generate disinformation, manipulated media of real people, or fraudulent academic work
- Don't try to get the AI to provide medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice presented as authoritative
- Don't share AI output as if it were written by a human professional
- Don't bypass the homework guardrails (e.g., framing assignments as casual questions)
Reporting violations
If you see content or conduct that violates this AUP, report it to [SAFETY_EMAIL] with as much detail as possible.
Enforcement
We use a combination of automated detection, user reports, and manual review. Possible actions include:
- Warning to the account holder
- Removal of offending content
- Suspension of access
- Termination of the account
- Reporting to law enforcement when required by law
- Civil or criminal action where appropriate
We may take action proactively to protect children's safety, even before a violation is conclusively established.
Appeals
If we suspend or terminate your account, you may appeal in writing to [LEGAL_EMAIL] within 30 days. We will review the appeal and respond within [APPEAL_RESPONSE_DAYS, e.g., 14] days.
Updates
