Copyright & DMCA Policy
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE_DATE]
[COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME] respects intellectual-property rights. This policy describes how to notify us of alleged copyright infringement on [PRODUCT_NAME] under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), and the equivalent process under the EU Copyright Directive (Directive 2019/790).
How to file a notice
To submit a notice of alleged infringement, send a written communication to our Designated Agent that includes all of the following:

- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material on the Service that is claimed to be infringing, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate it (URL, screenshot, account name, etc.).
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you (name, address, phone number, and email).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement made under penalty of perjury that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

What we do with notices
On receipt of a valid notice we will:
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material expeditiously
- Notify the affected user (the parent account holder) and provide a copy of the notice
- If counter-notification is received, restore the material after 10–14 business days unless the original sender files a court action
- In appropriate cases, terminate the accounts of repeat infringers
Counter-notice
If you believe content was removed in error, you may file a counter-notice with our Designated Agent containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that has been removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, phone number, and email
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or for an address outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found) and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the notification or an agent of that person
False notices
Filing a false notice or counter-notice may result in liability, including under §512(f) of the DMCA. We may report bad-faith notices to law enforcement.
Repeat infringers
We will terminate accounts of users who, in our reasonable judgement, are repeat infringers. Termination decisions may be reviewed by writing to [LEGAL_EMAIL].
EU users — Directive 2019/790
For users in the EU, equivalent rights apply under the EU Copyright Directive. We accept notices in any of the official languages of the user's member state. We provide an effective complaints process and reinstate content where the notice is unjustified.
Trademark and other IP
For trademark complaints or other intellectual-property issues (e.g., publicity rights), email [LEGAL_EMAIL] with details. Many of the procedural elements above apply by analogy.
Limitations
This policy describes a notice-and-takedown process for content visible on the Service. It does not apply to private message summaries or transcripts retained in your own child's profile — those are data subject to the Privacy Policy and DSAR process, not to DMCA.
