Safety by design
Every child message and every AI response runs through server-side guardrails. When a child may be in distress, Lumi responds with age-appropriate support and can surface local support guidance. Parents can review recorded safety events.
Homework that teaches
"Just tell me the answer" doesn't work - Lumi asks what your child tried first, then offers one hint at a time instead of completing work for them.
Privacy first
By default we keep short summaries, not raw transcripts. Raw storage requires an approved retention schedule. Verifiable parental consent (COPPA email-plus). Safety events always logged.
